BENEFITS OF BONE BROTH

See this content in the original post

Bone broth dates back to prehistoric times, when hunter-gatherers turned otherwise inedible animal parts like bones, hooves, and knuckles into a broth they could drink.

You can make bone broth using bones from just about any animal — chicken, pork, beef, veal, turkey, lamb, bison, buffalo, venison, or fish.

Bone broth contains high amounts of nutrients like collagen. Collagen is the most abundant protein in the human body. Bone broth has many benefits and one of my personal favorites it reduces inflammation.

Below are some more fan favorites about bone broth!

GUT HEALTH

Bone broth contains collagen and gelatin, which help seal the gut's mucosal lining and promote digestion. It also contains amino acids that support gut integrity. Drinking bone broth with meals can help with digestion because glycine stimulates stomach acid production.

IMMUNITY

Bone broth's amino acids and minerals can help speed up recovery from colds and flus. Cysteine, an amino acid found in chicken bones, can thin mucus, making it easier to clear.

WEIGHT LOSS

Bone broth is low in calories but high in protein, which can help you feel full longer and reduce your overall caloric intake. Liquids also take up more space in your stomach, which can help you feel full even with fewer calories. Bone broth can also help increase lean muscle mass.

JOINTS

Bone broth contains collagen, a protein that helps provide structure to bones, tendons, and ligaments.

SKIN ELASTICITY

As people age, their bodies naturally produce less collagen, so bone broth may help improve skin elasticity.

ELECTROLYTES

Bone broth contains electrolytes, which are minerals that help maintain your body's fluid balance. Because it's made from animal bones and parts, which are concentrated sources of minerals, bone broth can help prevent electrolyte imbalances and dehydration
