GETTING BACK FIT IN 24’

See this content in the original post

I was so religious with working out. My regime was up to 5 miles a day of walking and running and then I would do a workout video with BeachBody or BGM about 5 days out of 7. I decided to give myself a break starting June 14th. It was summer and I had some schedule changes that affected me being able to continue. Trust me I tried but I ended up settling for working out 2 days a week and eating clean 3 days a week and I must say that most of my working out consisted of Yoga. It was much needed.

IT’S THE BEGINNING OF 2024 YA’LL. AND I’M BACK!

Regardless of what is going, I am really focused on healthy eating and exercise. So, I went to the gym and I cried. I didn’t run out, I just continued to push through all those emotions and release that energy.

I EASEd MYSELF INTO IT

I know that some people will not agree with what I am about to say but I always ease myself into creating the workout and eating schedule that I want. I can’t just jump into the next day after having wine and pizza and also knowing that I took a 3 month break.

  • It’s a planning process - set a goal as to when you want to start and allow yourself to make a meal plan, buy the groceries and schedule how much you want to work out and when. It’s great when you pre-plan.

  • I ween myself - I slowly ween myself into my new work out. For example, I will officially start working out on September 12th - that’s when I’m back on. However, last week I worked out 4 days and ate clean 5. So, it’s like a pre-prep to ensure that I won’t mess up on my official-start week.

  • Meditation = Mind - Structuring yourself to eating right and working out is a mental WILL POWER energy. So, in everyday I meditate and I ask for strength and guidance from the DIVINE. I am an emotional eater but I have goals for my body that I want to accomplish. I realize I can’t do this alone.

  • Celebrate small victories - I do allow myself a cheat day. But a cheat day could be after 30 days (at least for me it is) and it is only 1 meal on Saturday and 1 meal on a Sunday. Then I will hope right back to eating right. It keeps me grounded.

  • I don’t weigh myself - I don’t weigh myself the first 30 days. In fact I weigh myself every 30 + 60 days now for mental health reasons. When you are working hard and eating right and don’t see the scale move it can be disheartening and unfortunately with me, it makes my mind go to dark places and will trigger emotional eating. I can honestly say that I will probably wait 60 days to weigh myself.

  • Set a goal and when you meet it, treat yourself! - I love finding things to purchase so believe me I will set a mark each month treat myself for doing the DAMN THANG!

You’ve got this! You can do it! Send me your before and after pictures! I definitely take before pictures.

Welcome to the journey of SELF-LOVE and HEALTH.
