Are One Night Stands Overrated? And Can they happen to anyone?
Yes, they STILL EXIST! They are not extinct and it happens everyday.
There is so much to say about one night stands. Some people absolutely detest them and they carry a negative vibe of “hoe-ism”, but is that true? Should you be automatically called a hoe because you have a one night stand? Believe it or not, some people celebrate having one night stands. It’s them being free about their sex lives and it’s really not a big deal to them.
Regardless, of what you personally may feel, one night stands can happen. Here are some tips about one night stands that everyone should know.
They Happen…
You’re having a great night out with your girlfriends and you’ve had too much to drink. You meet a hot guy and he wants to hang out after the establishment closes.
You were just out living your best life being carefree. Whether it goes outside your moral code you slept with a stranger…or maybe you knew the person but regardless you wake up the next morning after having a night of sex with someone you may not have intended to.
YOU’RE AN ADULT!
You can do what you want to do. If that is something that happened and you’re ok with it AND YOU WERE SAFE… LIVE YOUR LIFE! But, we do not condone this behavior if you are unsafe, MARRIED or in a serious relationship amongst other things.
It Can Be Dangerous
Having a hook up with a stranger (even someone you may know) can be dangerous. The statistics of men and women who meet up with someone that they meet online and in public places and then something horrible happening is high. Not to mention, being so wreckless and not aware of your surroundings can be detrimental to your well being.
You should ALWAYS be aware of your surroundings. Is going home with a stranger you met really worth your peace of not knowing if you will make it out the door?
Having a hot steamy night of sex may not be the best option and who knows if it will even be worth it? There’s actually a higher statistic of people who don’t have the best one night stands because the sex just wasn’t good.
And let’s talk about traveling and having sex with someone in another state or country. No one at Sly Stone will say that this has never happened to any of us, BUT but it is not safe. Sex Trafficking is at an all time high and we do not recommend leaving with someone in a completely different place that you are not familiar with.
We aren’t saying that all one night stands are bad and that you won’t meet your future spouse. Look at Chrissy and John Legend. She said they slept together the first day they met in an Los Angeles Times article and NOW they are married with beautiful children.
This could definitely happen. But we are stressing the importance of knowing your surroundings and ALWAYS letting someone know where you are.
If you have a smart phone, one of the best features is sending someone your location (share your location with Apple Iphone) before you start your night; they are able to track your location even when you leave the current area you pinged them at. Just STAY WOKE! That’s all we are saying.
No Strings Attached But You Caught Feelings
If you are someone who truly wants to be in a relationship and wants a partner don’t expect a call back the next day. Even when the other party says “I’ll call you” chances are they won’t and if they do it may only be for a booty call.
You had a magical night but having a one night stand can categorize you as an entry in someone’s “little black book”. That may be all that you will ever be to them so sure, you got a call back but ONLY AT NIGHT.
You may find yourself frustrated because you caught feelings for the person you are sleeping with. It can become difficult because you are in a tough spot. You want to take this to the next step but all they want you as is a person who just likes to have a fun time and satisfies their needs. It could be a never-ending cycle of NOTHING while you are crying at night because you just truly want a life partner and the person you want ONLY wants what’s in between your legs and nothing more.
Mirror What You Want…
You yearn for a life partner but you keep having one night stands? The MATH ain’t MATHING!
You should mirror what you want and your true hearts desires should win over your fleshly desires if you truly want to manifest things for yourself. This is a test that you may have to pass over and over again.
Sure, the core of having many one night stands is that you don’t want to be alone but you’re confusing the energy of what you truly desire vs what you’re actually doing.
Don’t put yourself in the category to feel less than and don’t put yourself constantly in dangerous situations.
How can you want security in a partner but you keep living your life on the edge with one night stands?
You’re also confusing the energy because you are putting yourself in a situation where you aren’t honoring yourself. You deserve to be more than just a “night-rider” or “day-rider”, everyone has a preference. OOOK!
Mirror what you want for yourself. Having so many sexual partners and living life on the edge with a one night stand will not help you get any closer to what you truly desire.
Think of all the energy from those partners? Sure, on the surface you see it as a one night stand but that persons energy has imprinted on you and it can be HELL to disconnect and get rid of it.
Sex is more than just an act. It is a transfer of energy (not just the climax energy, if you even get to experience one). It is a transfer of that persons energy on you that you have to release (NO! Not the climax…STAY FOCUSED). You get all of that persons good and bad energy and possible STD’s. So, if you want the best for yourself make sure that you are mirroring in your every day and night life what you truly desire.
And if you don’t care and you are living your best life and one night stands are what you want to do, then our advice is to be CAREFUL and be SAFE!
